Raheem sterling influential as Manchester City edge pass Real Madrid
Real Madrid played host to English champions Manchester City in the champions league round of 16 first leg encounter at Santiago Burnabeau.
The game which was probably an end-to-end action between both sides ended in goalless draw at the end of first half as both parties struggle to find the back of the net after a lot of wasted opportunities.
However, it was the Spanish based club who got the lead through Isco in the 60′
minutes after a ball from vinicius Junior.
Raheem Sterling was brought on in the 73′ minutes for Bernardo Silva to turn the fortunes of City around and he did impressed to expectations.
Known for his pace and ability to keep the ball, the play maker was involved in the build up to City’s first goal scored by Gabriel Jesus.
He was also the man behind the second goal of City as he tormented the defence of Madrid getting a penalty in the process as he was brought down by Cavajal in the box.
In a quest to prevent City from getting the third goal, Sergio Ramos was red carded as he was involved in a tough tackle with Gabriel Jesus making things tougher for Madrid going in to the second leg.
